Method of charging.

  • Charging by friction.

A substance when rubbed with a substance coming after in the following lists gets positively charged.

  • Cats skin
  • Fur
  • Glass
  • Cotton
  • Silk
  • Wood
  • Rubber
  • Resin
  • Ambur
  • Sulphur
  • Bonite

Charging by Induction.

  • Let a glass rod be rubbed with a silk cloth and then brought into CONTACT with the metallic sphere placed on the wooden stand.
  • The glass rod, when rubbed with a silk cloth, acquires a positive charge.
  • When this positively glasses rod is brought into contact with the metallic sphere of the glass rod.

Some of the electrons get transferred, from the metalic sphere to the glass rod.

There by metalic sphere acquires some +ve charge

  • All metals in solid & aqueous solutions of salts are example of conductors.
  • Glass generally don't condruct, electricity under NORMAL CONDITION of temp. & pressure.

They conduct electricity only under some special condition.

An insulation is a material that doesn't allow electric charge to flow through it.

EXAMPLES

  • GLASS
  • RUBBER
  • WOOD
  • EBONILE

AND SO ON EXAMPLES.... THANK YOU
