Migration plays a very important role in changing the composition and distribution of the population. it includes internal and international migration

1. Internal migration:-

(i) it does not change the size of the population within the country

(ii) it has resulted in a steady increase in the percentage of population in cities and towns .

(iii) it has lead to a significant increase in number of million plus cities of India

2.International migration

(i) it leads to change in the total population of our country.
