Answer:
Celebrating the safe and successful return of their ship and the speaker also mourns the loss of their great leader. In the first stanza, the speaker expresses his relief that the ship has reached its home port at last safe and sound but despite the celebrations on land and the successful voyage, the speaker reveals that their Captain is lying cold and dead on the deck. This shows a contrast of happiness and cheer of victory and well as mourn of an inevitable loss.
