Answer:

Answer : In a mechanical clock potential energy changes into kinetic energy. When the spring is revolved it stores potential energy and when it is released it changes into kinetic energy. In a quartz clock, electrical energy changes into magnetic energy and then into kinetic energy.

Dear Student,

◆ Answer -

  • (a) Mechanical clock - Potential energy changes to kinetic energy.
  • (b) Quartz clock - Electrochemical energy changes to kinetic energy.

● Explanation -

(a) Mechanical clock has a spring which when reveolved stores potential energy. When spring is released this potential energy is used as kinetic energy for hand of the clock.

(b) In quartz clock energy is stored in a electrochemical cell. When button is pressed this energy is converted into kinetic energy.

Thanks dear. Hope this helps you..
