Describe the motion of an object using Distance - Time graph and Velocity – Time graph.
Description:
Students should draw all three distance – time graphs and must explain how each graph
is used to determine the position of an object as well as the speed of an object. They
must draw velocity - time graph to show how it is used to find acceleration of an object
and the magnitude of displacement travelled by an object. Use only four A4 sheet
including cover page

Explanation:

in distance time graph the slope of the graph gives speed.

whereas in the velocity time graph the slope gives acceleration and area under the curve gives displacement.

How to calculate slope:

Take any two points on the graph.

Note their coordinates, say (x1,y1) and (x2,y2)

(y2-y1)/(x2-x1) gives you the slope.

How to calculate area:

draw perpendicular lines on x axis from initial and final point of the graph.

Give some names like say initial point A , final point B , x intercept by perpendicular from final point as C and x intercept by perpendicular from initial point as D.

Calculate area of the figure ABCD.
