The Mughals traditions of succession :
- Mughals followed the Mughal and Timurid custom of coparcenary inheritance . Their succession tradition was not that of a primogeniture.
- In primogeniture , the eldest son inherits his father's estate. In coparcenary the inheritance is divided among all the sons equally.
- So the Mughal tradition of succession was the division of inheritance among all the sons of the ruler.
