After the girl had left, the man who entered said that the narrator must be disappointed as he was not nearly as attractive a travelling companion as the girl. Then, the narrator asked whether her was hair long or short. The man replied that it was her eyes he had noticed, not her hair. He mentioned that she had beautiful eyes but they were of no use to her as she was completely blind.
