Answer:

It was primarily for hydrogen atom. It couldn't elaborate spectra of multi-electron atoms. Wave nature of electron was not justified by the model (inconsistent with the de Broglie's hypothesis of dual nature of matter) It didn't illustrated molecules making process of chemical reactions.

The Bohr model tells us that an atom is a small, positively charged nucleus surrounded by electrons. These electrons travel in circular orbits around the nucleus similar in structure to the solar system.

drawbacks---

i) It is valid only for one electron atoms.

ii) Orbits were taken as circular but according to Sommerfeld these are elliptical.

iii) Intensity of spectral lies could not be explained.

iv) Nucleus was taken as stationary but it also rotates on its own axis.

v) It could not be explained the minute structure in spectrum line.

vi) This does not explain the Zeeman effect and Stark effect .

vii) This does not explain the doublets in the spectrum of some of the atoms.
