Answer:

The nitrogen cycle is biogeochemical cycle by which nitrogen is convert into multiple chemical forms as it circulates among atmosphere, terrestrial and marine ecosystem. The conversation of nitrogen can be carried out through both biological and physical processes . important processes in the nitrogen cycle include fixation, ammonification, nitrification and denitrification. The majority of Earth's atmosphere (78•/•) is atmosphere nitrogen making it the largest source of nitrogen. However, atmospheric nitrogen has limited availability for biological use leading to a scarcity of usable nitrogen in many types of ecosystem.

Answer:

• The atmospheric nitrogen cannot be taken directly by the plants and animals.

• Certain bacteria and blue green algae process of soil fix nitrogen from atmosphere, can convert it into compounds of nitrogen.

• After the conversion, these usable compounds are utilised by plants from the soil through their root system.

• Nitrogen stain used for synthesis of plant protein and other compounds.

• Animals feeding on plants get these proteins and other nitrogen compounds.

• When plants and animals die, bacteria and fungi present in the soil convert the nitrogenous wastes into nitrogenous compounds to be used by the plants again.

• Certain other bacteria convert some part of them nitrogen gas which goes back into the atmosphere.

•As a result, the percentage of nitrogen in the atmosphere remains more or less constant.
