Rajasthani school of miniature painting prospered within 16th to the beginning of the 19th century in the state of Rajasthan.
The famous philosopher A Coomaraswamy of Indian Art History created this school and presented it as a Rajput academy. Later this institution was denominated as Rajasthani school.
There are two major constituents participated considerably in the formation of Rajasthani Paintings. First, the financial association of Rajputana was economically wealthy. Second, the restoration of ‘Vaisnavism’ and the extension of the Bhakti cult presented management to the construction of a distinguished school.
