South weat monsoon bifurcate in to the Bay of Bengal branch and Arabian sea branch. Later, it intrude in to the Indian sub continent.
Explanation:
- Arabian sea branch initially onsets on the Malabar coast and after 10 days, the wind moves towards the north and further onset in the Mumbai coast.
- Bay of Bengal branch crosses Srilanka and further bifurcates in to two stream of air.
- First stream crosses Andaman and Nicobar islands and further reaches up to Arakanyoma mountain in Myanmar, then second stream crosses parallel to the coromandel coast without shedding their moisture and reach the Shillong plateau in order to pour the rainfall around Cherapunji region.
- These "two branches" meet at the Delhi and starts retreating in the winter season.
