Describe the path of the monsoon winds, after it strikes the west bengal coast

According to me the monsoon winds nearly strike towards north east part of India in the month of June and July and in August it strike towards north western part of India.

Why is that stronger monsoon winds bring high amount of rainfall to North-western parts of India and Pakistan compared to North-East India, although North-East India is far closer to the Bay of Bengal branch?(There is a rain deficit in North-East India in years having exceptionally strong monsoons) Kindly read the question description before answering.
