Peasent movement was a movement that was started in India during the British Colonial Period.
During the Brish Period,traditional handicrafts were declining,land was being overcrowded,debts were being increased and peasents were facing poverty to a great extend.This led to peasents uprisings during that period.
Many Peasents movements were stated in India at that time.Some of them are: Peasant movements led by Marxist and Socialists- such as Telangana Movement (1946–51), Tebagha movement (1946–1949), Kagodu Satyagraha (1951), Naxalbari Movement (1967) and Lalgarh movement (2009). Farmers’ movement led by rich farmers in Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Punjab and Gujarat.
