Describe the phenomenon of launching of satellite with the help of orbital velocity , critical velocity and horizontal velocity in detail. Also explain types of satellite.
Answers
Answer:
for launching a satellite the carrier have to escape the earth's gravitational field.
hence,
1/2 mv^2 = G Me x m/Re
v = √2GMe/Re
and if we multiply Re on num and denom
then v = √2gRe
and that comes out to be 11.2 km/s this is the minimum velocity or the critical velocity which needed to escape the earth gravitational force
orbital velocity is the velocity of the moving satellite in the orbit around the earth which is
v = √2g(Re + H)
the angle of projection does not affect the value of critical velocity hence the horizontal velocity will remain same as the escape velocity
there are different types of satellites i.e.
geostationary satellite which are in resonance with the rotation of earth. this may use for geolocating and military purposes and television signals etc.
polar satellite which rotate in the north to south direction and use in the whether forecast and other different purposes.
hope this helps love
have a wonderful day
