This means the poet has chosen the right road and that road has changed the life of the poet in a positive way.

the speaker seems still pretty uncertain when he explains that this second path is better. it is only perhaps better. Then speaker tells us why the path is better - it seems like it hasn't been walked on very much because, grassy and don't look worn
