Alice sits on a riverbank on a warm summer day, languidly perusing her sister's shoulder, when she gets a quick look at a White Rabbit in a petticoat running by her. The White Rabbit pulls out a pocket watch, shouts that he is late, and flies down a hare opening. Alice follows the White Rabbit down the opening and happens upon an extraordinary corridor fixed with entryways. She tracks down a little entryway that she opens utilizing a key she finds on a close by table. Through the entryway, she sees a delightful nursery, and Alice starts to cry when she understands she can't fit through the entryway. She discovers a container stamped "DRINK ME" and downs the substance. She shrivels down to the right size to enter the entryway yet can't enter since she has left the key on the tabletop over her head. Alice finds a cake checked "EAT ME" which makes her develop to an unnecessarily enormous tallness. Still unfit to enter the nursery, Alice starts to cry once more, and her monster tears structure a pool at her feet. As she cries, Alice psychologists and falls into the pool of tears. The pool of tears turns into an ocean, and as she keeps afloat she meets a Mouse. The Mouse goes with Alice to shore, where various creatures stand assembled on a bank. After a "Council Race," Alice frightens the creatures off with stories of her feline, Dinah, and gets herself alone once more.  

Alice meets the White Rabbit once more, who confuses her with a worker and sends her off to bring his things. While in the White Rabbit's home, Alice drinks a plain container of fluid and develops to the size of the room. Alice eats one of the cakes, which makes her therapist to a little measure. She strays into the woodland, where she meets a Caterpillar sitting on a mushroom and smoking a hookah (i.e., a water pipe).  

Alice eats a piece of the mushroom. She meanders until she runs over the place of the Duchess. She enters and discovers the Duchess, who is nursing a screeching child, just as a smiling Cheshire Cat, and a Cook who throws enormous measures of pepper into a cauldron of soup.
