Describe the place of geomorphology in physical geography.
Answers
The word "geomorphology" has been procured from three Greek terms geo "Earth', morphos "shape" and logos, 'reason." Therefore geomorphology is a well-organized, characterization and interpretation of land forms of the earth.
Defined in simplistic terms, geomorphology is the knowledge of the arrangement of the Earth's exterior which is a very important department of Physical Geography. It is the discipline of study in which the model of Earth's exterior is inspected.
Studies of the arrangement of the earth deal with the landmasses and sea basins, magnificent mountain systems, the wide plains and with inclinations of Mountains and Canyons. As such Geomorphology is involved with the analysis, determination, and classification of landforms, and with the account of the methods that have created them.
