Govinda sat on a wooded hill, overlooking the bank of river Ganges. It may be visualised here that the hill was surrounded by drift wood and other debris brought about and deposited from time to time by the overflowing river Ganges.

The poem ‘Govinda’s Disciple’ by Rabindranath Tagore, depicts a teacher who wants to teach his disciple that attachment to wealth can get in way of attaining God’s blessing.
