The Policy Of Paramountcy was introduced by LORD HASTINGS ( Rawdon Hastings ; Many get confused that Warren Hastings introduced it but it's not Who was the Governor General Of Bengal From 1813 to 1823.)

According to this policy , the company made false claims that it's authority was supreme than that of Indian kings or Nawabs .

As the company's decisions were more supreme , it suggested the Indian states to surrender to the British and then Indian kings would have to administrate their Kingdom as a puppet ruler .
