  2. slaves in the farmland did works needed and running the form cultivation of crops would contribute to the Roman economy. the public and city owned slaves had another job to perform their jobs which would build roads and buildings and to repair the aqueduct that brought the water to the citizens of Rome
  3. the the Roman attitude to their slave was even more complex some were sadistic and disdainful of slaves. others feared slaves for they might rise u (and they did ) . Some wanted to clearly distinguish slaves from other Roman citizens by having them wear uniform.
