Began in the late 1960's, the green revolution was a period when the agriculture production expanded drastically, all over the world, as a result of new technology.

Wheat production after 1966 rises substantially, as HYVP were used in cultivation. The new technology, that was used during this time led to a constant expansion in areas under farming, a rise in total production and agricultural productivity. the use of modern technology in agriculture gave a boost to agricultural employment.
