Pradhan Mantri Gramodaya Yojana was an initiative started by the Indian government in the year 2000 to 2001. The main objective and aim behind this initiative was the development it off the rural areas in course of infrastructure as well as of the people.
The mean areas covered under this initiative at the beginning were Primary Health, primary education, rural drinking water, rural shelter and nutrition. Later on in the year 2002 to 2004, the rural electrification aim was also included in this initiative in order to provide electricity to thousands of rural areas in India
