A presidential system is asystem of government where an executive branch is led by a president who serves as both head of state and head of government. In such asystem, this branch exists separately from the legislature, to which it is not responsible and which it cannot, in normal circumstances, dismiss.

the basic feature of a presidential system of government is such that the nominal and real executives are one and same person as compared to the parliament system where the nominal and executives are different persons. the head of state is the head of the government in a presidential form of government.
