Principle: when a current carrying coil is placed in a magnetic field then it experiences a current dependent torque on it producing angular deflection
Radial magnetic field is ued to maintain the plane of the coil parallel to magnetic field to produse maximum torque
Soft iron core intensifies magnetic field and increases sensitivity of galvanometer

Note:at equilibrium,
Defelecting torque = restoring torque
