In rooftop harvesting, the roof becomes the catchments, and the rainwater is collected from the roof of the house/building. It can either be stored in a tank or diverted to artificial recharge system. when water comes through pipe from roof before storing water it is filtered by filter paper that is situated in pipe or at the hole of tank . we can use this water
but it is not used as drinking purpose

The rooftop rainwater harvesting is the alternative water utilising method in Rajasthan.
1.A huge underground room was built in the main courtyard or as a part of the house.
2. The underground room was connected to the rooftop with pipes.
3. When the first spell of rain used to fall, the water flowing used to clean the pipes and rooftop.
4. The subsequent water showers were stored in the underground water as palan pani.
5. Till the next spell of rain, this water could be stored and utilised as it was the purest form of water.
6.Many got tankas(the underground rooms) erected as they cool the other rooms.
