The rainwater harvesting is the alternative water utilising method in Rajasthan any in many other places. It's a good alternative to save water.
So procedure is as follows :-
1. A huge underground room was built in the main courtyard or as a part of the house.
2. The underground room was connected to the rooftop with pipes.
3. When the first spell of rain used to fall, the water flowing used to clean the pipes and rooftop.
4. The subsequent water showers were stored in the underground water as palan pani.
5. Till the next spell of rain, this water could be stored and utilised as it was the purest form of water.
6.Many got tankas (the underground rooms) erected as they cool the other rooms.
