Question

the process by which coal is formed ?

Answer

coal was formed by the decomposition of large land plants and trees buried under the earth about 300 million years ago .

about 300 million a year ago the earth had dense forests in the low-lying wet areas .

due to natural calamities like earthquake volcano flood and etc... this forest got buried under the surface of earth as more soil got deposit on them they were compressed .

as a result the temperature also rose as this sank deeper and deeper due to high pressure and temperature and the absence of air at the end of the buried forest plants and trees slowly got converted into coal .

first of all it changes into Peat and then it changes into lignite and then by getting heated it changes into bituminous then it changes into anthracite.

 \:  \:  \huge \red{extra \: explanation}

the slow process by which the dead plants buried under the earth have become coal called as carbonization .

As Coal was formed from the remainder of plants it is called as fossil fuel .

goal which is mainly Carbon on heating produce many carbon dioxide gas and lots of heat energy
