after the general elections, the elected representatives of the people form the lok sabha. then the president appoints the leader of the majority party within the lok sabha as the prime minister.
the prime minister has his post for at least 5 years. after that elections are held again and the prime minister is changed if some other party wins the elections. if the same party wins , maybe the previous prime minister will serve again.
