The processes followed in digestive system are ingestion, digestion, absorption, assimilation and egestion.

1 INGESTION : intake of food through mouth. Then the food is grinded using teeth and the tongue helps in rolling the food which ultimately goes down the oesophagus through peristaltic movement.

2 DIGESTION: food is broken to simpler substances in stomach and small intestine by various enzymes like trypsin, lipase etc

3 ABSORPTION : nutrients are absorped by the singer like projections called villi in small as well as large intestine.

4 ASSIMILATION : food gets assimilated or digested and absorbes in the small and large intestine.

5 EGESTION : the waste left after digestion is secreted out through the anus.

Hope this helps!!

Hey! Friend here is your answer.

First of all we chew food in our mouth also called Buccal cavity. Here food is crushed and chewed with the help of our teeth.
Salivary Gland secrets saliva which contains an enzyme called salivary amylase. It is responsible for the digestion of starch present in the food.

Then the food passes through the long tube called Oesophagus.
The food goes into the stomach where it gets Gastric Juice secreted by Gastric Gland.
HCL, Mucus and Pepsin are present in this juice.

Now the partially digested food goes into the Small intestine. Here it gets secretion from Liver and Pancreas.

Liver secrets Bile Juice and Pancreas secrets Pancreatic Juice.

Intestinal Juice is secreted here which converts fats into fatty acids, carbohydrates into glucose and proteins into amino acids.

Numerous finger like projections are present here with a network of blood vessels which absorbs the digested simpler substances to each and every cell in our body.

The undigested food goes to the Large Intestine for excretion.
