ans. During a single cycle blood goes twice in the heart which is known as double circulation. It is necessary in human being to separate oxygenated and de-oxygenated blood because this makes their circulatory system is more efficient and helps in maintaining constant body temperature

During contraction and relaxation phase of heart the double circulation takes place.it is defined as the blood pumped from heart to lungs and the blood sent the heart from lungs .This is called as pulmonary circulation as “ pulmo” means lungs . And the blood from heart to rest of the body and from rest of the body to the heart ( blood ).This is called as systemic circulation.
