Explanation:

Respiration involves taking in oxygen and release of carbon dioxide by the process of breathing. The taken oxygen is the utilised to oxidise chemical energy stored in the food to released energy in the form of ATP along with carbon dioxide and water. Respiration involves exchange of gases i.e. oxygen with carbon dioxide. Respiration in human beings takes place through a special system called as respiratory system.This involves nostrils, nasal cavity, larynx, bronchi, bronchioles ending in alveoli.

  • Nostrils- Air enters in our body through nostrils .
  • Nascal cavity-Air is filtered through nascal cavoty it has fine hairs and mucus which filter the air .
  • Pharynx- It is a common passage for food and air to pass .(Epiglotttis a flap muscular valve is present which ensure that they are transported to their respective paths.)
  • larynx -it has vocal cords when aor flows thrpugh it . Thay vibrate and sound us produced .
  • Bronchus-Wind pipe divide to two pipes one leading to each pipe .
  • Bronchioles-Bronchus divide into braches called bronchioles

Alveoli-Balloon like structure which is richly supplied with blood vessels and provode large surface area for exchange of gases .
