The process of sporogony in the life cycle of plasmodium involves the division of first oocyte by meiosis and then many times by mitosis and cytoplasm form vacuoles shaped cells called sporoblasts. Chromatin arrange themselves around the periphery of each sporoblast and then cytoplasm forms spindle shaped haploid cells called sporozoites. This asexual multiplication phase is known as sporogony. Theses are than picked up by the mosquito and get burst inside the haemolymph of mosquito and travel to the salivary glands and are ready to infect another host.
