Then, in 1707, an Act of Union was signed between Scotland and England, which caused the formation of The United Kingdom of Great Britain. This, however, caused English people to impose their influence and dominate Scottish people. Scottish people could not practise their culture. Then In 1801, Ireland was forcibly integrated into the Great Britain after British people decided to support Protestants (Ireland was divided into Protestants and Catholics), Wolfe Tone and some other people protested and their protest was suppressed (1798).
