Fraunhoffer diffraction occurs when waves pass through a slit or an aperture.
Properties of Fraunhoffer diffraction are:
1) It occurs on flat surface.
2) Shape and intensity of diffraction pattern remain constant as waves propagate from the scattering source.
3) The diffraction pattern remains in a fixed position.
4) The screen is placed at infinite distance from the object.
5) The wave front is a planar wave front.
