Hi friend ,

Here is your answer-

Properties of metals-

•Lustrous
•Sonorous
•Malleable and Ductile
•Donate electrons and are electro-positive
•Generally solid excpect mercury.
•Good conductors of electricity
•High melting and boiling points
•High tensile strength

Properties of non-metals-

•Non lustrous
•Non-Sonorous
•Brittle
•They gain electrons and thus electronegative
•Can be solid, liquid,gas
•Bad conductors of electricity
•Has low melting and boiling points.
•Brittle

Hope it helps..!!!!

Physical properties of METALS ::

1. Malleable
2. Ductile
3. Good Conductor of heat and electricity.
4. Lustrous
5. Sonorous
6. Hard

Physical properties of NON-METALS ::

1. Non-malleable
2. Non-ductile
3. Poor conductor of heat and electricity
[ exception --- Graphite -- it is a good conductor of electricity ]
4. Non-lustrous
[ exception --- Iodine -- it is shiny instead of dull ]
5. Non-sonorous
6.Quite soft
[ exception --- Diamond -- it is hard ]

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Chemical properties of METALS ::

1. Metals form basic oxides.
2. Metals react with water or steam to produce hydrogen gas.
[ exceptional --- Copper, Silver, Gold -- do not react with water or steam ]
3. Metals react with dilute acids to produce hydrogen gas.
[ exceptional --- Copper, Silver, Gold -- do not react with dilute acids ]

Chemical properties of NON-METALS ::

1. Non-metals form acidic oxides.
2. Non-metals do not react with water or steam.
3. Non-metals do not react with dilute acids.
