Four different types of coal found are following:

1.Antharacite-It is the highest quality hard coal.

2.Bituminous-It is most popular coal used in commercial use.

3.Lignite-A low grade brown coal which is soft with high moisture content.

4.Peat-Decaying plants in swamps produce peat.

Coal is formed due the comparison of plant material over millions of years. Coal therefore,is found in a variety of forms depending on the degree of comparison and the depth of and time of burial.
