In presidential form of government there is not so big role of pm but in Parliamentry form there is a very big role with great powers.

A PM is the head of cabinet ministry and has the powers to execute and control it. This is the duty of PM to lead the work of cabinet ministry . He/She supervise the work of various government department and the list of council of ministre is also made by pm.
