INDIAN FARMERS SOLD THEIR PRODUCE TO MARKETS WITHIN THE COUNTRY AND TO THE GOVERNMENT THROUGH FCI. ALSO PEOPLE WERE DEPENDENT FOR THEIR FOOD PURCHASES ON MARKETS WITH IN THE COUNTRY .FOREIGN TRADE PRODUCTS WAS NOT ALLOWED . EXPORT OF MOST FARM PRODUCTS , ESPECIALLY FOOD GRAINS, WAS BANNED .ONLY GOVERNMENT HAS RIGHT TO IMPORT IN CASE OF SCARCITY . WE HAVE ALSO SEEN THAT THE GOVERNMENT SUPPORTED FARMER THROUGH THE SUPPLY OF CHEAR FARM INPUTS.THUS,THE INDIAN FARMER,PRODUCED FOR MARKETS WITHIN THE COUNTRY.IN CASE OF FOOD SCARCITY THE FCI PLAYS MAIN ROLE.IT SAVES GRAIN FOR EMERGENCY NEED IN CASE OF DROUGHT,FLOODS AND MANY MORE.
