In March 1927 Jinnah made a new move for bringing about an understanding between the Hindus and the Muslims. He then persuaded a number of Muslim leaders to be flexible on the issue of separate electorates. Jinnah had also earlier suggested that the Indian political parties should put up an agreed constitutional plan.

In 1927, Muhammad Ali Jinnah played a significant role in bringing about cordiality between the Indian National Congress and the All India Muslim League, two major political parties in India at the time.

Jinnah, who was a member of both the Congress and the Muslim League at different times, saw the need for the two parties to work together to achieve their common goal of Indian independence from British rule. He saw the communal divide between Hindus and Muslims as a major obstacle to this goal and believed that a united front between the two parties was necessary to achieve their objectives.

Jinnah played a pivotal role in negotiating the Delhi Pact of 1927, which was a compromise agreement between Congress and the Muslim League. The pact provided for separate electorates for Muslims while also ensuring that the Muslim vote would not be divided into Hindu-majority constituencies. The agreement also gave Muslims greater representation in the legislative councils.
