RD Tata was one of the best known leaders. He was approachable and Diplomatic. He made friends easily because he could connect with people and he was never rude. He always answered in a tactful way. For example, when Nehru went against
Industrialist, he was very angry with him.
But, he let him know in a diplomatic way.
He supported Innovation.
This attitude can be seen in “TATA Chemicals” where he encouraged to experiment
and innovate.
He is a visionary: He was the one who started “Commercial
Airlines” in India and named it as “Air India”.
This was later taken by the Government.
He also suppressed his ideas, if he found the idea of his manager was
better. He gave the credit of bringing up the company from “280 crore in 1938 to 15,000 crore in 1993” to the employees of His company. He was the one who supported “Rata Tata’s” plan to enter into High risk Investment.
