When Shyama saw Ranga and heard him talking about his modern concept of marriage he decided that he would get him married and settled in their own village itself, because Ranga is a good boy. So he called a girl called Ratna to his house in the pretext that he would like to send some butter milk to her aunt. He had cleverly arranged for Ranga to come to his house at the same time. He made Ratna sing. Ranga arrived when she was singing and was attracted to her singing. But when Ranga inquired to know more about the girl Shyama said that she was married and was satisfied to see Ranga's disappointment.
Then Shyama met his friend Shastri, the astrologer and arranged with him to say things to Ranga, so that he will be sure that he was destined to marry Ratna. Unaware of the plot, Rangs falls for it and marries Ratna.
