I made my way through the hundreds of people looking for the familiar bright red mess of curls, it was surely a bad idea to go out during Black Friday sales. Women wearing sun hats, children clinging to their parents, people buying bottles of water pushed against each other. Street vendors sat on the sides of the road shouting to attract customers. The sun flashed brightly on the golden statues forcing me to look away. A little girl pleaded to her mother to buy her a bright purple and purple embroidered bag. a women selling beaded necklaces and wrist charms called out to me to have a look into her shop as I shook my head and walked further, I saw shops selling spices, red chillies and yellow turmeric highlighting the dull wooden shops. The scent of paint from the hardware shops lingered in the air mixing with the smell of perfumes and sweat. I finally found my friend looking at fine silk pillow covers and I dragged her out to the parking lot before we got lost for the fourth time today.
