when magnet is brought near iron fillings they get attracted towards magnet this shows  attractive power and effect of magnet.
when magnet is freely suspended it points north south direction this shows its directive property and effect.
when magnet is brought near another magnet with same polarity it repels this shows repulsive property and effect of magnet
