"In the year 1885, the Indian National Congress was founded. It emerged to counter the British Empire and led the Indian independence movement during the 19th century.

During the freedom fight, it split into two groups i.e. moderates and extremists. In which the moderate group were led by Ghokhale and the Bal Gangadhar Tilak was prominent extremists.

Rahul Gandhi is the present president of Indian National Congress.
