Student Support Services(SSS) are the types of academic, personal and career support services provided to students who lack resources. They provide students academic and financial support to complete their studies.

If a person is working in the student support services, he/she must know the following skills: 

(i) Communication Skills: The person must know the skill to actively engage with the students. He/She must know how motivate students to openly reach out to them 

(ii) Friendly Attitude: The person must develop a friendly relationship with students to identify their potential. 

(iii) Patience: The person needs to show patient behavior, as the confidence level in all students varies. 

(iv) Coaching Skills: The person must know how to coach the students in terms of personal and academic needs. 

(v) Integration with College/School Administration: The person must stay in touch with the school/ college administration to stay updated over the progress of the student at the respective fields. 

(vi) Financial Aid: The person must make arrangements for financial aid of students when they require it. They must keep healthy relations with donors etc.
