mahajanapad period was from 600 bc. at thus time, there were many regions called janpada . social organization was partly present at that time. bhakti of god and idols were started. vedas were already written at that time. people were introduced with 'varna'system where they they were divided on the basis of four namely brahmn, kshtriya,vaishya and kshudra.
the crux of this whole scenario is that we first develop the idea of division in this period. also we developed better infrastructure at that time.
