Before the Russian Revolution of 1917, the majority of the Russians were peasants which were 80-82%.


The upper class consisted of royalty, nobility and clergy men who constituted about 12-13% and the rest was 4-6%, were the working and the middle class people.


Thus, the wealth was concentrated in the hands of few.
