Answer:

Explanation:

Although in ncert their are 4 points written....i’ll Tell u 5 points

1)screening: the waste water is passed through the bar screens from where large / big impurities such as napkins , cans , packet etc. are separated

2)sand removal or grit tank : here the water is allowed to settle for sometime in order to allow the impurities such as sand and stone to be separated. Also the speed of water is slowed down.

3) sedimentation tank : then the water is allowed to settle at a sloping area which creates an obstacle that allows the solid impurities such as human faeces , animal dung etc settle down and are seperated. The biogas and sludge are the by products .

4) aeration tank: then the air is allowed to pass through the tank and the anaerobic bacteria grow. This allows them to absorb the impurities from water. Then we obtain clarified water.

5) chemical purification: for further purification some chemicals such as chlorine and ozone are used to purify the water

Hope it helps

Answer:

The steps involved in getting clarified water from wastewater are as follows:

(i)Use an aerator to bubble air through the wastewater. A mechanical stirrer or a mixer can also be used in place of the aerator. This helps in reducing bad odour of the wastewater.

(ii)Then, the water is filtered through the layers of sand, fine gravel, and medium gravel. Filtration makes the wastewater clean from various types of pollutants. The water is filtered continuously until it becomes clear.

(iii)Then any disinfectant such as chlorine tablet is added to the filtrate and stirred to obtain completely clear water.
