• Small country in Europe. Smaller than the state of India, Haryana.

• It has borders with Netherlands, France and Germany.

• It hs population little over one crore, about half the population of Haryana.

• The path of accommodation adopted in Belgium.

• The number of Dutch and French speaking ministers is equal in the central government.

• Many powers of the central government have been given to state governments of the two regions of the country. The state governments are not subordinate to the central government.

• The third kind of government named community government is introduced in addition to the central and state governments. This government has the power regarding cultural, educational and language related issues.

• The Belgian leaders, in order to solve the problem of cultural diversities, adopted a compromising path.

• Belgium has 3 types of government : i) State government        

       ii) Central Government     and   iii) Community government.
