A nephron is the filtration unit of the kidney. It consists of a tubule which is connected with collecting duct at one end and a cup-shaped structure at the other end. This filtrate contains glucose, amino acids, urea, uric acid, salts and a major amount of water.

Nephrons are the structural and fundamental units of kidneys. They constitute of the following:
1️⃣ Outer Renal Cortex- dotted appearance due to presence of Malpighian Corpuscle and Proximal Convoluted Tubule.
2️⃣ Inner Renal Medulla- stripped appearance due to presence of Henle of loop and Collecting duct.
3️⃣ Renal Pyramid
4️⃣ Renal Papilla
5️⃣ Renal Pelvis

Bowman’s capsule which is a u-shaped or cup-shaped capsule inside which is fitted a a network of blood vessels called Glomerulus.
